My Novel was called Second Childhood. It was written by Morris Gleitzman and the cover was illustrated by Mark Sofilas. It was published by Penguin Books Australia in 1990. This edition was published in 1998. It was a very exciting and adventurous book, taking lots of twists and turns. It took me 2 days to read it and it had 115 and a half pages in it. I enjoyed reading this book beacuse it really held my attention and I couldnt wait to see what was going to happen next. The main characters (Mark,Annie,Pino,Rufus and Darryl)were good friends who worked together to achieve there goal. My favourite characters were Rufus and Darryl. I liked these two characters because they seemed very funny and had very good sense of humour. I reccomend this book to anyone who loves and adventure.

Evaluation - I liked reading this book because it was not like other book. It had many interesting events that made me want to keep reading to see what was going to happen next. Some bits of the book were quite scary and detailed, but some bits were quite funny and easy to laugh at. My favourite character was Josh because he seemed like a very kind and caring person. He also had a very good sense of humour and he made me laugh at some the things he would say.
As I reached the end of the book I was sure I knew what was going to happen. I was quite surprised at what actually did happen. I liked that the ending was unexpected.
I look forward to reading more of Gabrielle Wang's Novels.

Evaluation: This was my favourite book out of the three novels I read. I really liked this novel because it had lots of unepected events happening throughout the book. The storyline also really appealed to me because the characters were individuals who went after what they believed in. Parts of the book were quite dramatic and I found myself not wanting to put it down. I was pleased about the way the story ended because all the characters found happiness in their own lives. I loved this book!
Name: Oscar got the blame Authour: Tony Ross Illustrator:Tony Ross Publisher: Century Hutchison Pty. Publishing Date: First published in 1987 Type of book: Childrens picture book. No.of pages:22 Time taken to read: 5 minutes
Evaluation: This was a very simply written story that was easy to follow. It is directed towards five to eight year olds because of its repetitive set out. Even though it is a quite a basic story I still had a giggle at the end.
I also think five to eight year olds would enjoy this book because sometimes young children tend to have imaginary friends. So I think it would be easy for them to relate to.
Name: Dear Fred Author: Susanna Rodell Illustrator: Kim Gamble Publisher: Penguin Books Australia Publishing Date: 1994 Type of Book: Childrens Picture Book No. of pages: 28 Time taken to read: 5 minutes
Evaluation: This was my favourite book out of all three books. It was my favourite book because I could relate to it. The author used a family of mice to explain the idea of a blended family. It is nice to know that that there are other families that have brothers and sisters who go between two houses. I also enjoyed it because the illustrations were very cute and funny to look at. This book would appeal to children between the age of 7-12.

Name: The Heart of the World Antarctica Author: Coral Tulloch Illustrator: Coral Tulloch Publisher: ABC Books Publishing Date: 2003 Type of book: Antarctic Information book No. of Pages: 45 Time taken to read: 3 days
Evaluation: This information book was a very interesting and informative read. There were many fascinating facts that helped me understand alot more about the Antarctic continent. One thing that I found very remarkable was that Antarctica used to be part of a great land mass called Gondawana. Im also amazed to have found out that Antarctica is the only place on earth that belongs to more than one nation. I also think it is great that Antarctica is protected by the Antarctic Treaty, which makes sure all nations work together to protect this beautiful land.
Name: Antarctica The Frozen Continent Author: Greg Reid Illustrators: Ivan Finnegan,Richard Morden and Laurie Whiddon Publisher: Macmillan Education Australia PTY LTD Publishinng Date: 2005 Type of Book: Antarctic Information Book No. of Pages: 32 Time taken to read:2 days
Evaluation: I found this book very interesting just like my first book. Although I thought this one was easier to understand than my first one. Some things I found quite fascinating were that icebergs come in range of colours. These colours are white, green, blue and pink. Another thing I found remarkable was that the Ross Ice Shelf is about as big as France. This book seemed to cover alot of aspects on Antarctica and it would be good to use if you were doing a project on Antarctica.
